Dick Sprang was one of Bob Kane’s first ghosts in the 1940s drawing BATMAN under Kane’s name— his work had equal parts unique power and Chester Gould’s DICK TRACY which defined the character through the 1950s. I love his work and he continued to work up through the 80s doing painted recreations of his most famous covers while living in retirement in Arizona. In the 1990s he did a series of covers for DC Comics and lithographs for the Warner Bros Studio Stores.
